What is etiquette? The most common interpretation arises from a certain behavioral code acceptable in specific social context or the practices and forms prescribed by social convention or by authority. This code of behavior depends on social setting and conveys the most powerful knowledge tool. For instance, a medical doctor does not use the same language to address everyone he or she speaks to in the hospital. A doctor may use an informal speech at home with family and friends, a more formal lingo with patients and an even more formal register with colleagues, which includes medical jargon and words associated with the medical field. Both the speaker and the addressee adjust their style of speaking and behavior to fit the setting with socially correct behavior and to avoid embarrassment.
